Son and grandson of inquisitive and dedicated travellers, I grew up seeing the U.S. and imagining what lay beyond our borders. All early travel was by car. At 19 I had my first airplane flight. At 26 my wife, Judy, and I chaperoned high school students to summer school in England and we caught the "travel bug." After we became empty nesters in the 1990s we were able to expand our horizons and visit many wonderful places primarily in Europe, Asia and the south Pacific.
My Favorite Places:
Too many to enumerate, but let's begin with Switzerland, the Greek islands, New Zealand's south island, Denmark, Kyoto, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bora Bora, the fjords of Norway, the Canadian Rockies, Nova Scotia, Park City (Utah) and the mountains of our home state, North Carolina.
