I was raised in Boulder, CO where I had the pleasure of backpacking, snowboarding and driving as far East and West that I could. My last road trip (while living in CO) was with my good friend Nick and his car; we did a loop thru from CO to Detroit , Toronto , Ontario , Quebec , and back down thru DC, NYC and Providence . After that I figured I better get on a boat to see what else was out there...but they didn't put me on a boat. nope. I enlisted in the US Navy and they put me in Hawaii , which at the time I never pictured myself traveling to, let alone living there. So, after my tour in Hawaii I landed a ship out off Japan which enabled me to see more then I ever thought possible. My first year onboard I hiked Mt Fuji, stood on the boarder of N and S Korea at the DMZ, saw countless sunrises in the middle of the pacific, made friends in Australia, seen Hawaiian islands only inhabited by thousands of birds that loved circling our ships mast when we cruised by and much more. My time is coming to an end here onboard and I will have to start traveling on my own penny which I am looking forward to because of the freedom but breaking into an empty piggy bank doesn't always work. So if anyone out there has any ideas on cheap travel or jobs that let you travel all over I would appreciate your tips!
