I have taken up to 4 months off work and life to do what I live for - travel. I don't want to be greedy-I would love to travel all the time. I enjoy all types of travel. I love the freedom of the open road so road trips are a favorite quick fix. National Parks, international travel, business travel, domestic travel, rouging it, camping or four star experience are all great for me. I spent 4 months in Uruguay / Argentina learning Spanish, backpacking around and visiting family and friends. I've taken 5 weeks off to take a road trip from Vermont, down the eastern seaboard, ending in New Orleans. But a weekend trip is just as rewarding for different reasons. I often travel with my sister and two dogs, which does limit where we go...but I usually find things off the beaten path because of it.
I often travel to places because of opportunity. Destination weddings or killer travel deals have lead to most of my international trips.
My sister and I are currently planning a 10-12 month, around the world trip, departing in 18-24 months. I also enjoy photography. I'm a bit of a flickr addict. My two rescued boxers, my family and friends, meditation, anthropology and dancing are all favorites in my life as well.
My Favorite Places:
countries are the most interesting for me because of the amount of
change that is happening - a year after I leave, these countries are so
different. Uruguay is my favorite travel destination. I have family there which makes it a different travel experience. But the country is provincial, dynamic, tranquilo. Traveling up the west coast in Northern California and Oregon is great as well. And the national parks in Utah are some of my favorites.
