I have been fortunate in my lifetime. I started my travels in the US Navy where I circumnavigated the world 3 times in 4 years. I am a Senior Shellback to say the least. Then I was in the Travel Business for 38years, owning and operating many Travel Agencies and Tour Companies. I have sailed on 103 cruises to date and really love that. I was the Travel Expert for Columbia TV and traveled with many celebrities and notable clients. I did several TV Shows as the Travel Expert, one that I was featured on a lot was "It's a Great Life" and indeed it has been just that. There are still more places out there to explore but I am content now to live on the beach in Southern California. I had been a sun freak but now have had 20 cancer surgeries and do not sit in the sun any longer.....damn it!! I am now a member of Couchsurfers and host visitors from other countries. It is all about giving back to the wonderful world that made me feel so welcome for so many years. I have hosted visitors from several countries so far and it is a nice way to meet people, explore new cultures and even travel and stay for free in various countries of the world. I do recommend it highly. After all, many of the highlights from all the countries I have visited were the people that I met there. No one can guide you around or recommend places to see and things to do better than someone that actually lives there. Try it! www.couchsurfing.com
