I have been traveling for many years, ever since I was graduated from UCLA in 1952 and went to Honolulu the following year (via the old Lurline.) My first European vacation was 10 weeks in 1966. Since those days I've been around the world nine times, each trip lasting from five to seven months. I belong to the Traveller's Century Club(Santa Monica, CA), and acording to their list of countries, I've visited 127. Now that I'mcoming close to my 80th birthday, I've slowed down. I've never taken escorted tours preferring to travel always on my own. However these are sounding more interesting as the years pass by! I do have a trip to Japan, leaving September 14th. I'll spend two weeks in Japan and fly on to Thailand on October 1st. I return to California on October 28th. I'm using 90,000 miles from Mileage Plus and will go business class on Singapore airlines. Might as well be comfortable in my older years! I can surely remember those cramped "charter flights" of the 50's and 60's to Europe!!
My Favorite Places:
Switzerland and Thailand where I have many friends. Bora Bora is the most beautiful place I've ever visited. Hawaii is probably my favorite local destination. I've been to the island at least once a year for over fifth years (first visit was in 1953!)
