As a child, I did not have any chance to travel. My first three trips abroad were to Stockholm to work during summer vacations. After finishing high school I traveled to London to be an au pair for nine months. In my twenties and thirties I made a few trips within Europe. My first far-away-destination was Australia in 1988. Since then I have been travelling always when possible (= during vacations). Now when retired, it would be possible to be on the road all the time, but now I have less money. It is not fair! My aim is not to see as many as possible but as much as possible. I take a lot of photos, some of which have landed on my web site.
It has been great to join this group and see that there are so many people whose passion is to travel and see cultures different from their own.
My Favorite Places:
Galapagos Islands, Botswana and Tanzania are absolutely on the top, other places are not so easy to rank. Iceland, temples in Siem Reap (Cambodia), Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Taj Mahal in Agra, Abu Simbel, Karnak temple and Giza pyramids in Egypt, etc are unforgettable.
