Sergio J. Castro - Ensenada,
Baja California, Mexico
Greetings from Torrance, California. I am a 8th generation native of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico (and a proud father of the 9th generation). My place of residence is listed as Ensenada, Baja California. We relocated to California back in 1999, but our home is in Ensenada. I still maintain close ties to my home town, that’s the only place in the world where we own property. And I contribute with a monthly column on Information and Communication Technologies in a local newspaper (along with fellow alumni from the University of Baja California).
I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively, mostly on business, but my motto is to make the most of it; to work hard and to play hard. Of course, my travels pale in comparison to the fellow road warriors from this site. Nevertheless I have visited 39 countries and territories, from Jakarta, Indonesia to the State of Goias, Brazil. I also have traveled to 24 United States, and to the nation’s capital. Within Mexico I’ve been to 17 states and 43 cities.
I am happily married, I have been so for 23 years. Together my wife and I have traveled to Bogotá, Seattle, Cancún, Paris and London, Singapore and Thailand. And we have taken our kids to San Francisco, Las Vegas, Boston, New York City, Mexico City and Navojoa; and we drove the whole Baja California peninsula.
I love my career. It has allowed me to visit fantastic places that I would not have otherwise; and I am still going! I am looking forward to country number 40!
My plan is to never retire. Maybe slowdown in my elder years, but I will hopefully never retire.
