Portugal - born 26.3.1942<>I travel mostly by car, since I was 13, and I still did not stop doing it.<>Most of my trips covered between 10,000 to 25.000 kms, they crossed all continents, and passed through many countries, totalizing almost 1 million Kms driven all over the World, not counting what I did in my country, Portugal.
On the last twelve months (2007/8), between other smaller trips, I drove from Lisbon to Southern Africa for the third time, this one ending in Maputo – Mozambique . Apart from that, I travelled, by train, from Moscow to Vladivostok, and drove 12.000 km in Saudi Arabia.
On the past, I drove two times across Europe and Asia starting in Lisbon, once to Beijing, another to India , Nepal and Tibet . In Africa I travelled more than 20 times across the Sahara Desert in six different itineraries. I also drove 10 times from Lisbon to Dakar or Bissau
On the nineties I did three itineraries across North America and Canada , one along Central America, and four all over South America.
Because of this way of travelling, I have been in approximately 1800 subdivisions ISO of the World, 190 independent countries, (many of them several times), 294 Unesco sites and 367 MTP places.
I hope to do, this year of 2008, the remaining 4 countries of the World that I don’t know, and complete an itinerary from the Artic Ocean (Alaska) to Central America, passing through 12 USA states and 22 Mexican states, hopefully reaching the “Hall of Fame” of MTP!
