I was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended Mundelein College (Bachelor of Music Education) and Northwestern University (Master of Music and Doctor of Music.) I am a retired Professor of Music from Central Michigan University where I taught music theory and composition for 38 years. I am a composer and my music for organ and organ/flute has been published and played on the PBS program "Pipedreams." I have been a church organist/choir director at various churches most of my life and am still active as an organist/composer. I also work with stained glass: Visions in Glass. In recent years I have studied the Russian language and am at the advanced-intermediate level. I fell in love with Russia because of the music and Russian opera, have been to Russia 21 times and have many good friends there including major actors in St. Petersburg's theaters and members of the Russian National Orchestra.
My Favorite Places:
Russia, Central Asia especially Uzbekistan, India, Norway and everywhere else I've been.
