I've always been interested in seeing other places. As a kid, I collected stamps of the world and studied maps. I was the Geography whiz in school. Most of my early traveling was in the US. I especially sought out the national parks, and by now I have been to most of them as well as all 50 states. Prior to 1995, I had visited only eight foreign countries. Now, it's well over 100. I take three or four foreign trips per year, mostly to new places. I like adventure traveling and outdoor photography. I have never taken a luxury cruise. One of my favorite activities is uphill hiking (not the kind that requires technical equipment). I have climbed Mt. Lassen in California, Humphreys Peak in Arizona, Wheeler Peak in Nevada, Pacaya in Guatemala, and Ayres Rock (Ularu) in Australia. Future goals include visiting Madagascar and an Arctic cruise.
My Favorite Places:
Antarctica, Peru, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Italy, Paris, French Polynesia, South Africa, Tanzania, Yap, French Guiana, Death Valley, southern Utah
