I am a professional forester living in Lahti, Finland. I made my first trip abroad to Czechosloavakia in 1975 as a member of group of Finnish forestry students. In summer 1976, I was on iterrail with my girl friend. In a month, we travelled extensively in Central, Southern and Eastern Europe. During the Christmas and New Year holiday season in 1977-1978 I visited USA for the first time. I went to see my girl friend who studied as an exchange student in Ohio. Once again, we travelled extensively in the east coast and mid-west from New York through Florida to Ohio and back to New York. In 1981-1997, I worked as an international forestry consultant. In that role, I lived four years in Africa, and later carried out short-term consultancies Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America. Travelling has been my hobby for years. I have visited almost all counties Europe. Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia, has been favourite place for years. Now, I am about retire. The journey still continues.
