My desire to travel stems from an over developed need to acquire new knowledge and gain life experience. I travel for the ability to live the culture, not simply to check off locations by stepping off a plane. Travel is living the day, not reaching a destination. I have lived many more significant experiences than more "traveled" members. I was present in Berlin at the fall of the wall. In the early 90's I stood atop the Ziggurat in the biblical city of Ur in Iraq as the first westerner there since 1908. I climbed into the tomb of the 10 kings of Babylon there. Visited the oasis at Al Asad on the Syrian border with Iraq where Abraham stopped on his return home. I spent the day being pelted by tomatoes in Bunol Spain at La Tomatina, played Texas Hold'em in Lisbon Portugal with Brazilian triplets and road my Harley Davidson cross-country in the U.S. I've got allot more colorful stories to tell and allot more to acquire in the future. I've always known I'd travel my entire life and I will. I won't die at home.
