I was the founder and CEO of Quest Telecom, an Atlanta switched based telecommunications carrier that developed the technology for one of the original prepaid calling card systems.
I am a member of the Rotary Club of Coral Gables, the Explorers Club in New York and the Family in San Francisco. I am also a founding Board Member of Mediators Beyond Borders.
My wife Luba and I enjoy adventure travel and are fortunate to have traveled to many remote areas of the world. Our travels include: Papua New Guinea - exploration of Sepik region in a dugout canoe; Tibet - crossing the Himalayas over the Friendship Highway from Lhasa to Katmandu; Uganda - trekking silver back mountain gorillas; Morocco - camel trekking in Sahara desert and camping with Bedouins; Nepal – exploring the Chitwan and participating in opening blindness prevention hospital in Lumbini; Peru - exploration of the rain forest and the Tambo Pata research center; Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka on landmine detection dog projects with the Marshal Legacy Institute; and exploration of Antarctica on a Russian icebreaker.
