Luxembourg Visit: 2017-7
2017-07-31 - We did an extended weekend from Friday to Sunday and visited Luxembourg by car. The drive from Hanover to Luxembourg took around 5h, the last 1h was basically over country roads in Luxembourg. Staying in the Radisson Park Inn was an excellent choice as it was perfectly located in the center (Quartier Gare). From there we could visit everything by walk, which we did. The old town was fascinating with many small bars and brasseries' to rest, drink and eat. We went to the Kasematten (WHS), Notre-Dame, Old Town, Grund, Wenzel and the Centre Européen (Financial District). The city was very clean and the people very friendly. As we usually book our hotels without breakfast to eat outside, we went this time to the train station to grab something to eat, but the train station is not very beautiful and was somehow disappointing compared to the rest of the city. After we spend 2 nights in the city centre we decided to do a castle trip and visit those 7 castles recommended in our travel guide, which was only a short detour. The castles were nice to watch but most of the time somehow small. Having visited all the recommended places we headed back to Germany Sunday Afternoon.

Slovenia Visit: 2017-6
2017-06-19 - I had the pleasure to visit Ljubljana as part of a business trip for a couple of days. The Airport of Ljubljana was quite easy to reach from Germany, and as we traveled in various groups we figured out that the taxi transfer from the Airport to our Best Western Hotel varied from 45€ - 60€, for the identical trip. My expectations about Slovenia were not really good before the trip as I thought this is another (poor) country from Eastern Europe, but the trip really changed my mind. Unfortunately the price level in Ljubljana is compareable to other large European cities. From what I experienced, the country was very friendly and modern, and the total opposite of what I thought before - Another reason to really visit other countries. Ljubljana was really impressive with a huge amount of students and a large pedestrian area, with nice and small Bars / Pubs, enabling customers to sit outside and enjoy live...Definitely a city I will visit someday again...
